特488 卡通明星郵票—小熊維尼 Sp. 488 Cartoon Figure Postage Stamps-Winnie the Pooh

Winnie the Pooh, a bear that loves honey, created by English writer A.A. Milne

and illustrator E.H. Shepard, debuted in 1926. In 1966, Disney released a short

animated film, in which Pooh was changed to wear a red shirt. He still has the

same appearance today. Though he is somewhat clumsy, his kindness makes him the

most popular animal in the forest. Pooh and his friends - Rabbit, Piglet, Tigger

and so forth - live in the Hundred Acre Wood. He is the kindest and most innocent

friend in everyone's heart. In 1997, Pooh received the honorary title "Ambassador

of Friendship" from the United Nations.

So as to stimulate interest in philately among youths, Chunghwa Post has again

commissioned the Walt Disney Company (Taiwan) Ltd. to provide the designs of Winnie the Pooh, a cartoon character representing friendship and trust, for two souvenir sheets. Each souvenir sheet will include two stamps, one with a denomination of NT$5 and the other with a denomination of NT$25. The four stamps in these souvenir sheets each feature an image of Pooh - in spring, summer, autumn and winter respectively. This is a set of stamps worth treasuring.

Winnie the Pooh（小熊維尼）是英國作家 A.A.Milne與插畫家E.H.Shepard筆下1隻愛吃蜂蜜的熊，1926年他首度與人們見面。1966年，迪士尼發表短篇動畫片，將傳統小熊維尼的造型稍作修改，即目前所見穿著紅色T恤的小熊維尼。維尼純真可愛，雖然有點笨拙，但心地善良，是森林中最受歡迎的動物。他與好友們－兔子、小豬、跳跳虎…等，住在“百畝森林”裡，是每個人心中最善良、最純真的朋友，1997年更獲頒聯合國友誼證書。

本公司為提升青少年集郵風氣，續以深受青少年喜愛，象徵友誼、信任之卡通明星小熊維尼為主角，委託台灣華特迪士尼股份有限公司精心設計「卡通明星郵票－Winnie the Pooh」小全張2張，每張均含面值新台幣5元及25元郵票1枚。
