George Herriman's Krazy Kat has been called the greatest comic strip of all time. First appearing in 1913, Krazy Kat's heyday was from 1935 to 1944 when it ran as a color strip. Herriman's characters play out their simple interlocking roles. Krazy loves Ignatz Mouse, who enjoys throwing bricks at her head. She sees these attacks as acts of love. Offisa Pupp, himself iv love with Krazy, tries to prevent the inevitable beaning. As eccentric as the sketchy drawing style and surreal landscapes of Coconino Country is the language - playful, phonetic spellings, peculiar dialects and alliteration, a "krazy", polyglot, American voice.

I bought this set of postcards because they are cute. I didn't know they're so famous!!!
